Our Choir is a fantastic creative outlet and a great social activity, bringing together a diverse cross-section of the local community from across Mid Ulster. As well as a great social and creative activity, the positive impact of choir singing on mental and emotional wellbeing is well evidenced and fundamental to what we do.
To get involved you don’t need to be able to read music or have any previous experience. Through the support and guidance of a Gathered Voices tutor and your fellow singers, you will quickly develop basic skills and begin to experience the joy of singing together.
To give as many people the opportunity to experience the joy and positive benefits of singing together in a choir.
In an ever-busy world dominated by communication via technology, we need more opportunities to meet, connect and build relationships with like-minded people
Life can often be challenging and after a difficult week, singing together is proven to give you the emotional lift you might need and reduce stress levels. That sense of togetherness and common purpose will help boost your mood and overall well-being
There are proven physical benefits to singing regularly. It is proven to boost amount of oxygen in the blood, increase energy levels and work out a range of muscles in the upper body. It’s even linked to longer life expectancy!
Singing in a choir can be an excellent way to express yourself artistically, motivating and challenging yourself in a supportive environment.
We are proud of the positive difference we have made. Here are some examples of our impact on members.
